We are thrilled to welcome Daria to Apricum, who brings with her 10 years of experience in energy and energy transition from a top-tier management consulting firm. Daria is an outstanding strategist and chose Apricum as a place to dedicate herself to the clean energy transition. In addition to the intellectual stimulation of working on complex projects with like-minded colleagues, our friendly, supportive and transparent work environment and culture also played an important role in Daria choosing Apricum.
Let’s find out more about Daria.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN APRICUM?
I started my career in management consulting in conventional energy and witnessed how energy transition got on top of the agenda of all energy companies. This topic was characterized by a high level of uncertainty regarding the pathway and timeline of the transition, the fast-paced evolution of regulation and technologies, the broad landscape of clean technologies, and the need for companies to act immediately. So, I felt that energy transition is the space where, as a strategy manager in energy, I could apply my skillset, solve challenging problems, and create the most value. Apricum, with an exclusive focus on clean technology, was the best place to do strategy work in the energy transition space.
I appreciated Apricum’s depth of expertise and thorough, detailed approach to problem-solving. With a technical background, I felt that I would be a good fit for the company.
I also enjoyed the warmth, passion, and intelligence of the Apricum team, which I met in the interview process. This made a significant contribution to my decision to join Apricum.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE APRICUM IN THREE WORDS?
Knowledgeable. Warm. Passionate.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT AT APRICUM?
I appreciate most that the corporate culture is supportive and collaborative. Team members readily share their knowledge and consulting tips whenever someone asks for help or struggles. There are weekly chat clubs where we share key insights from the projects and discuss best practices. There is also an institute of mentorship to ensure that each consultant has support from a more senior colleague.
I also like the high level of transparency. The team gets regular business updates and can openly ask leadership any questions.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF OR SOMEONE SEEKING A CAREER IN CLEANTECH?
I would advise my younger self to start working in this field as early as possible. You learn so much faster and gain a much deeper understanding of the topic when you solve real problems. I would also suggest not narrowing myself down to one technology early in my career. It would give flexibility and allow me to take time to understand where my passion lies and which topics are more promising.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I love nature and enjoy outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, kayaking, skiing, rock climbing, sailing, and birdwatching. I do most of these activities on vacation. On the weekends, I do indoor rock climbing and short hiking and cycling trips, which allow me to explore the UK. I like spending time with my friends and, ideally, doing outdoor activities together.
I also enjoy going to the theatre, reading, and watching movies.
