James Clark

Apricum – the Cleantech Advisory is delighted to welcome James Clark to its growing team of senior advisors. Based in London, James is a corporate financier and M&A advisor with a strong technology services focus that covers B2B software, SaaS, IT services, online price comparison and financial data analytics.

With more than twenty years of experience in the technology and public market sectors, James’ deep technical insight and track record of successfully developing and bringing companies to market will be an asset to Apricum’s clients seeking to grow and increase their value while driving the global renewable energy transition.

Prior to joining Apricum, James built strong technical and business consulting competencies as a board advisor to Swiss online comparison service Comparis.ch AG, also as the head of software, IT services and internet equity research team at the CSFB technology group, as a consultant for British Airways Airport Service Development and as a senior advisor with London-based Green Future Investments. More recently, he co-founded the financial services companies Capital SCF and Obair Partners, where he is partner.

Between 2000 and 2008, James won, or led teams that won, a series of prestigious industry awards. From 2000 to 2007, his team was consistently ranked among the top three in the European Software category by Institutional Investor, in addition to ranking first in the 2007 Extel survey and second in the 2008 Institutional Investor poll for European Software. Furthermore, while running the Equity Research team at Credit Suisse, James ranked first in his sector in the 2006 Financial Times Starmine awards.

In addition to exceptional tech skills, James’ key competencies also include strategy and business model development as well as corporate finance and cross-border M&A. James also created the business plan and series A and B equity stories for a novel anode development company as well as delivering both sell and buy-side M&A advisement to software and technology services and Internet businesses across Europe in addition to North America, Australia and New Zealand.

James holds a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of London’s King’s College and speaks English, French and German.
